2008 chevrolet hhr review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Retrowagen gets more performance. introductionthe chevrolet hhr is a car-based retro-wagon that celebrates its chevy heritage with styling inspired by the iconic 1949 suburban. Hhr stands for heritage high roof, a reference to the early high-roofed suburbans and panel trucks that inspired the design of the hhr.  based on the same platform as the chevrolet cobalt, the hhr was first launched as a 2006 model. The hhr competes most closely with the chrysler pt cruiser, but also with honda element, ford escape, and jeep liberty.  for 2008, the hhr lineup gets a new high-performance ss model.  we found the chevy hhr fun to drive. It isn't a sports car, but it's nimble and we were pleased with its acceleration. The hhr feels more responsive than its horsepower, torque, and transmission ratio numbers suggest. Plus, it gets decent fuel economy.  the hhr panel van features smooth, windowless side panels and rear cargo doors with no handles. The rear cargo doors open via an instrument panel button. While it’s more spartan inside and provides seating for only two, the panel best exemplifies the early suburban heritage.  the hhr ss is the most fun to drive, launching quickly off the line and offering sharp handling. On an autocross circuit, we found it handled like a sports car.  the hhr interior isn't as functional as we'd like, however. And the base cloth fabric left us wishing we'd ordered the optional leather.  the chevrolet hhr remains relatively unchanged for 2007 with the exception of slightly more powerful engines and a few additional new color choices. New exterior color options for 2007 include imperial blue metallic and golden teal metallic; a new interior color option is ebony. lineupthe 2008 chevy hhr comes in three distinctively different configurations: hhr, hhr panel, and the new hhr ss. It comes in several trim levels, including the base ls and two lt grades. The ss comes with a high-performance 2. 0-liter turbocharged engine.  the ls 16,515) comes with cloth upholstery, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a substantial level of standard features and equipment. The lt 17,175) adds an mp3 player with a jack for an ipod, eight ways to adjust the driver's seat, and satin chrome trim.  the 2lt package 2,395) adds the 2. 4-liter ecotec engine, anti-lock brakes, traction control, fog lights, a 260-watt pioneer sound system with seven speakers, 17-inch aluminum wheels, sport-tuned suspension and bright chrome trim.  the hhr panel 2lt 20,850) comes with the satin chrome exterior package, sports suspension, 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. The pioneer sound system is optional. The base hhr panel ls 16,820) is equipped similarly to the five-passenger ls.  safety features include optional front and rear side-curtain airbags 395). Abs comes standard on the 2lt, and is optional for the ls and 1lt 400). Stabilitrak electronic stability control is now standard across the entire hhr model range. walkaroundwe like the retrospective styling treatment served up by the hhr across the model range. The closest comparison to the chevy hhr is the chrysler pt cruiser. Both fill a respective need in their individual camps.  the rounded nose of the hhr is not unlike chevy's ssr, which also reflects the brand's truck heritage. The hhr's fenders are well defined with flat side wheel well openings contrasting favorably with the vehicle's many curved, contemporary sculpted surfaces. Front and rear bumpers and fog lamps are integrated into seamless fascia, with integrated running boards offering another nostalgic touch. The flush glass all around, including the windshield is a nice touch, as are the headlights surrounded by body panels in old school fashion. The tail light treatment consists of two round vertically stacked lenses on each side. The large, prominent grille is chrome, (except on the ss model), and appears much like that of the 1949 suburban.  front and rear bumpers are molded from composite material, integrated as part of their respective fascia. It provides lots of room and functionality without being boxy. When viewed from a distance, the hhr looks larger than it really is. Examined closely, it's compact. The cargo doors open wide enabling cargo access from both sides of the vehicle, as well as from the rear lift gate. The cargo doors are smooth and don’t have external handles; they are opened via a dashboard release button or the remote keyless entry fob. The large, continuous area created by the windowless cargo doors and rear panels is ideal for business logos, advertising or personalization. Side visibility is obviously limited due to the solid sides without windows; one must rely primarily on mirrors for backing maneuvers. The smooth, windowless sides on the panel give it a cleaner, retro, more hot rod look than the standard models. The lack of windows adds security for contents inside.  the hhr ss sits 6 mm lower than it stable mates, but sports extended front and rear fascias that give it the appearance of riding much lower. The new front fascia features an air-dam design with integrated fog lights, and the chrome surround grille comes with mesh-style upper and lower grille inserts. The new rear fascia provides a cutout for single bright exhaust tip. New rocker moldings resemble accentuated running boards. Out back, a rear spoiler is mounted above rear glass. Body-color door handles, mirror caps and rear license plate surround, along with ss badging on the front doors and rear lift gate further differentiate the ss from its stable mates. interiorinside, the chevy hhr provides for the most part, comfortable and functional surroundings. Speaking of headroom, there isn't a lot of it, in spite of the high roof. Also, the door lock button is positioned so that it interferes in driving and resting one's left arm on the window sill, a traditional and nostalgic pose.  cubby storage is limited. There's a handy flip-up compartment on top of the dash and a small glovebox. The rear provides one cupholder and small door pockets. The rear cargo floor flips up to reveal a five-inch-deep tray useful for storage. The rear lift gate is one piece, and raises easily.  solid rear quarter panels are available in place of the windows on all five-passenger models (via a window delete option).  the hhr panel provides seating for two and a large, flat cargo floor, with tie-down points located strategically on the floor with available, floor mats that allow for easier movement of cargo. The hhr panel features a flat load floor featuring a rubberized floor that provides utility and functionality for commercial or lifestyle activities.  the hhr panel cargo area features a standard auxiliary power outlet, as well as a 40-amp auxiliary power connector to provide service for a variety of specialty equipment needs. Two large, storage compartments, with a lockable option, are located forward under the cargo floor (in place of the rear seats in the passenger models). The compartments offer security for things such as computer equipment, flashlights, service manuals and other valuables.  the hhr ss features a special interior with ss-embroidered sport seats with inserts, a specific gauge cluster, an a-pillar-mounted turbo boost gauge and a new shifter arrangement. Three interior color combinations are available: ebony, light gray and victory red. A special gm performance driver’s seat, providing added lateral support and spirited driving comfort is optional and we think it's a must. driving impressionthe 2. 4-liter ecotec (an upgrade that comes as part of the 2lt package) is an impressive and versatile engine. The torque peak figure at such high rpm suggests that the low-rpm pulling power might be weak, but quite to the contrary, it's not. We drive up a steep, slow hill every day, and the hhr plugged up the hill like a tractor, with no shifting-down or searching by the automatic transmission. This high-load, low-rpm driving is what many drivers demand.  transmission ratios have a lot to do with the efficient del. 2005 scion xb review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Stylish, inexpensive and practical. introductionthe scion xb is a box on wheels with strong styling that grabs attention, often from members of the opposite sex. It's a five-passenger wagon that doesn't look like a wagon. Nor does it look like a toyota, though it's built by toyota and carries the company's high standards of quality, durability and reliability.  as a result, the scion xb feels tight. And it's quiet, with little wind noise and no squeaks or rattles. Inside, it's roomy and has a nice interior with controls that are easy to operate. The driver and passengers sit upright in chair-like seats and enjoy excellent visibility. These comprise both appearance and functional items. Among the eye-candies are clear tail lamp lenses, rear bumper applique, body side graphics, led interior lighting, carbon fiber shift knob, sport pedals, and an instrument panel applique. Adding function are a leather-wrapped steering wheel (red or gray), front strut tower brace, fog lamps, cup holder illumination, removable roof rack, 6-cd changer, satellite radio tuner and antenna, cold-air induction system, and an assortment of handling and performance goodies from toyota racing development. walkaroundthe styling of the scion xb is polarizing. It drew numerous accolades, looks of approval, and positive hand signals from people in miami and south florida.  the scion xb looks like nothing else on the road. Sheets of flat metal and glass on the sides join at right angles with a flat roof, a flat hood and a flat liftgate. Only the barest hint of a curve softens the front end and windshield. A honda element looks curvaceous when parked alongside this exercise in extreme angularity.  the wheels and tires look tiny under the boxy exterior. Aftermarket alloys that fill the wheel wells would likely improve its looks.  tall doors open wide. Top-hinged outside door handles fit smoothly into the xb's slab-sided styling, but they're less ergonomic and less friendly to fingernails than open, full-round handles like those found on the xb's more traditionally styled sibling, the xa. The seats are more like chairs than car seats, raised somewhat above the mostly flat floor. Side bolsters on the seat back and seat bottom cushions are minimal making for easy entry and exit. The floor-mounted shift lever falls readily to hand, as does the hand-operated emergency brake. Pedals are ergonomically placed.  gauges are centered on the top of the dash instead of being directly in front of the driver. Scion says this makes the instruments easier to see because they're closer to the driver's line of sight through the windshield and focal plane. No doubt this also saves cost in a car built for markets around the world that use both right-hand and left-hand steering. We found the blank landscape between the spokes of the steering wheel takes some acclimation. At night, we kept wondering, 'where are the dash lights?' once acclimated, the driver finds a large, black-on-white speedometer, a small tachometer and a small fuel gauge.  the broad expanses of glass make outward visibility stellar, good for heavy traffic and tight parking spaces. Big outside mirrors afford a good view rearward.  interior quality is better than decent, especially given the xb's price point. Fit and finish are up to toyota standards. The stereo is mounted above the air conditioning controls because they're operated more often. Temperature and ventilation settings are adjusted with basic knobs, buttons and lever. But the stereo plays to people used to directional buttons and pda cursor pads.  the xb's exterior styling suggests a roomy interior and it delivers on this promise. Compared with the honda civic and vw golf, the xb leads in virtually every passenger compartment measurement, and generally not by small amounts. Scion xb delivers about 6 inches more front and rear headroom and 3-5 inches more legroom than civic and golf offer. Amazingly, the xb boasts nearly 3 inches more front-seat headroom and 7 inches more rear-seat headroom than the element, despite the element being 6 inches taller. The element easily tops the xb, however, offering 74. 6 cubic feet of cargo space versus the xb's 43. 4 cubic feet.  ordering the available subwoofer takes up 2 square feet of floor space in the cargo area. Worse, it's mounted right smack in the middle rear of the cargo area and is really in the way when loading or unloading materials. There are the usual map pockets in the doors, cupholders front and rear and so on. There's a nook in the lower half of the dash to the left of the steering column, a cranny to the right of the column and a shelf-like opening above the glove box. driving impressionthe ride is firm. At first, the xb didn't generate a lot of confidence when braking and cornering, especially when they're done at the same time, but confidence in its capabilities increases with time behind the wheel. Body lean in corners is minimal, notwithstanding the tallish glass house. It's difficult to envision the xb in a situation requiring the vehicle stability control system, but it's standing by in the event it's needed, ready to eliminate any skidding. Steering assist is about right. Torque peaks at rather high engine speeds, so revving it up in lower gears is advisable for merging onto freeways. Scion xb gets excellent gas mileage: 31/35 mpg on the epa city/highway test with the manual, 30/34 with the automatic.  the automatic is responsive enough. Gear changes with the manual shifter could have been crisper, but clutch take-up is smooth. Brakes feel solid and hold well on steep hills.  the scion is a small toyota. With that comes quality design and assembly, which translates into minimal wind noise; no odd vibrations, buzzes, squeaks or rattles; and no harshness, really, at least nothing beyond what might be expected in a relatively lightweight, short-wheelbase car. summarythe scion xb features trendy styling, a roomy cabin, and is priced aggressively. When it comes to moving stuff around, it's better than a compact car. Because it's a toyota, owners should expect and expect and demand solid quality and the durability and reliability associated with the marque. model lineupscion xb 13,680). options as testedalloy wheels 665); wheel locks 59); sound package 774) includes am/fm/6cd, bazooka tube subwoofer; security system 429); light package 879) includes luxaura led enhancement, cup holder illumination, fog lights; logo brown exterior package 758) includes rear spoiler, body-side graphic, b-pillar applique, fuel-filler applique; preferred package 366) includes carpeted floor mats, cargo mat, cargo net, acsco door sill enhancements, rear bumper applique. model testedscion xb automatic 14,480). 2006 chrysler pt cruiser review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The retrowagon gets a facelift. introductionthe 2006 chrysler pt cruiser features its first significant facelift in six years. Inside and out, the new look is best described as more modern, but not so much so as to spoil the pt's toy-hot-rod fun.  chrysler pt cruiser combines the retro look of late-'30s american iron with modern performance, efficiency and features. It doesn't fit within existing automotive marketing segments.  the pt cruiser is based on the dodge neon, a compact car noted for sprightly performance. It comes in two body styles, a versatile five-door model and a two-door convertible.  the five-door model's tall body boasts lots of room for people and cargo. In fact, its interior volume and versatility compare well to a small suv. Yet the pt cruiser is shorter in length than a neon, making it easy to park. The lower-level models are competitively priced, and we think they make the most sense.  pricier turbocharged models add fire under the hood. For 2006, the fire has been turned up to 230 horsepower in the gt model. A more affordable 180-horsepower turbo is also available.  the convertible is one of the least expensive on the market. The gt also comes with side-impact airbags, a power glass sunroof, and most of the limited's luxury goodies. Leather sport seats are also standard. The gt convertible 27,930) comes with all the limited and gt sedan goodies, and for '06 its 17-inch wheels are chrome-plated, just like the sedan's.  optional on all convertibles and on limited and gt sedans is a new boston acoustics premium sound system (replacing last year's infinity system), but retaining the same 368-watt peak output. Sirius satellite radio is optional on all models this year 195, including a one-year subscribtion). Gps navigation 1100) is available on limited and gt; so is uconnect hands-free, in-vehicle communications 360), which uses bluetooth technology to link the user's cellular phone with the cruiser's stereo speakers. Limited sedans can be ordered with plastic woodgrain exterior accents 895) for the vintage town & country look. Many of the standard features on higher-line models are also available as options on the less expensive models.  safety features include front side-impact airbags, standard in gt and limited and optional 390) on the other models. Seatbelts should always be worn, however, and the pt cruiser comes with three-point safety harnesses at all positions, including the rear center position. The front belts have pyrotechnically charged tensioners, just like in luxury cars, to tighten the belts for the initial stages of an impact. T. walkaroundthe chrysler pt cruiser blends the retro look of a late-1930's or early 1940's american sedan with new-age styling cues such as dual-beam flush headlights and teardrop-shaped taillight lenses.  the look has been refined for the 2006 models, but not drastically changed. Chrysler says the pt cruiser now has the face of chrysler, which seems to translate into a more horizontal-themed grille that no longer extends down below the bumper, topped by a more prominent chrysler eagle and flanked by gently scalloped headlamps. Round foglights now frame a horizontal slot in the bumper. Around back, a new body-color spoiler on the liftgate is said to improve aerodynamic efficiency.  in terms of exterior dimensions, the pt cruiser is quite compact. It's nearly 6 inches shorter than a neon. Yet with 63 inches from the pavement to the highest point of its roof, the cruiser sedan is also 7 inches taller than the neon, and nearly as tall as some minivans. That height is a crucial element of the pt cruiser's design.  the design of the convertible is quite a bit different from that of the sedan. The convertible looks shorter than the sedan, but isn't; maybe it's the single long door on each side that creates this illusion. It's certainly lower, by almost 3 inches, which certainly alters the looks. But there's a lot more to it than that: close examination reveals that the windshield is raked more radically and uses a different a-pillar design. With the top up, the convertible looks like a custom chopped-top hot rod. Pretty cool.  drop the top and the gangstermobile turns into a chick car. With its top down, the pt cruiser convertible's high tail and integrated sport bar remind us of the old volkswagen cabrio. But where the vw's side windows sealed against its sport bar, the chrysler's windows seal against each other for a more modern convertible profile. Its slightly narrower and color-keyed sport bar sits behind the windows, inside the car, and is aerodynamically designed to minimize wind noise. A nice boot is provided that dresses up the appearance with the top down. Less obvious improvements for 2006: all instruments are now bigger, the radio is mounted higher, the glovebox is larger, and the glovebox door is now damped.  the driver still faces three white-faced gauges set in individual cylinders, with speedometer center, tachometer right and fuel and water temperature left. The gt's silver-faced speedometer reads up to 140 mph, while the standard cruiser's speedo goes to 120. Window switches are still high in the center stack, inconvenient for quick operation, forcing the driver to search for them. The door levers have a nice action, and the switches operate with good tactile feel, though they're not world class. The standard stereo sounds tinny; we haven't tried the new boston accoustics system. Also, there's a separate set button for the station presets, fussier than simply holding the preset down.  a bonus of the cruiser's tall profile is its upright seating position, with a fairly high view ahead, somewhat like a sport-utility vehicle or minivan. The gt also features a leather wrapped steering wheel with satin-silver spokes, and bright accents on the pedals.  a redesigned center console now incorporates a sliding armrest, replacing the seat-mounted armrests provided previously. The new console also includes a covered tray for concealing small items, a storage bin that holds six cds, a new coin holder and fold-out cup holders for rear-seat coffee.

2007 chevrolet hhr review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Retro-suv gets power boost for 2007. introductionthe chevy hhr is a handy wagon that celebrates a heritage that dates to the 1949 gmc suburban panel delivery truck. Hhr stands for heritage high roof, and the roof of the hhr is high. The chevy hhr is built on a smaller scale, but there are no bones about its retro styling. Its retro look is best exemplified in the hhr panel van.  we found the chevy hhr to be fun to drive. It isn't a sports car, but it's nimble and we were pleased with its acceleration. The hhr feels more responsive than its horsepower, torque, and transmission ratio numbers suggest. Plus, it gets decent fuel economy.  the interior wasn't as functional as we'd have liked, however, and the base cloth fabric left us wishing we'd ordered the optional leather.  the chevrolet hhr was launched as a new model in 2006, and it remains relatively unchanged for 2007 with the exception of slightly more powerful engines and a few additional new color choices. New exterior color options for 2007 include imperial blue metallic and golden teal metallic; a new interior color option is ebony.  the hhr is built on the platform of the chevy cobalt compact and incorporates its best features: engine, transmission and suspension. The hhr is meant to compete against the chrysler pt cruiser, as well as the honda element. It also serves as an alternative to a jeep liberty or ford escape.  the panel van lt features smooth, windowless side panels and rear cargo doors with no handles. The rear cargo doors open via an instrument panel button. lineupthe chevrolet hhr comes in ls and two grads of lt trim, 1lt and 2lt. The pioneer sound system is optional.  safety features include optional front and rear side-curtain airbags 395). Abs comes standard on the 2lt, and is optional for the ls and 1lt 400). Electronic stability control is not available. walkaroundif there's ever been a case of a picture of a so-called suv being worth a thousand words, the hhr should be it. It looks like a 1949 panel delivery truck, with the edges smoothed over. The big grille is chrome, every inch of it, and looks almost exactly like the '49 suburban grille. The headlights, however, are modern glittering wedges, containing one big beam and the turn signal.  the front and rear bumpers are molded plastic, unlike the steel in the body. Technically, they may be part of the fascia, but because they take the conspicuous shape of bumpers, they are more like square lumps extending from the extremities of the vehicle.  the glass runs neatly uninterrupted all around the vehicle, with five rectangular windows from b-pillar around the rear to b-pillar. There's something about the simple shape of these windows that gives the hhr a low-rider look, although the roof itself is relatively high, as the name declares. Roof rails are almost useless without crossbars. It features shaved rear door handles. The lack of windows adds security for valuables inside. This design also lends itself to wraps and customization. interiorthe tan cloth interior, despite its name of cashmere cloth, looks like upholstery that might be found in an inexpensive furnished rental unit. Speaking of headroom, there isn't a lot of it, in spite of the high roof.  there's no significant storage in any console between the seats; two cupholders and one slot is all. The door pockets are small. There's a useful flip-up compartment on top of the dash, however, as well as a small glovebox.  in the rear, there's one cupholder and small door pockets. Even operating the driver's window, at toll booths for example, requires leaning forward and reaching down. Window switches should be on the driver's door.  the turn signal makes a loud, rapid, annoying click. The rearview mirror blocks a significant chunk of forward visibility out the smallish windshield.  the gauges and controls are standard gm issue. Superfluous chrome rings and trim, and instruments designed to look cool, rather than to be easily readable. One good thing (even if it is bright chrome) is the door handle, an ergonomically correct ring which actuates with a horizontal inward pull.  if the hhr misses on the little interior things, at least the cargo storage possibilities are excellent, although the total cargo area of 55. 6 cubic feet is 8. 4 less than in the pt cruiser. The rear split 60/40 seat folds flat very easily, as does the front passenger seat; and since the 60-percent side of the rear seat is on the left, a long item like a ladder can be slipped in diagonally, a nice feature. The rear cargo floor flips up to reveal a five-inch-deep tray useful for storage. The rear liftgate is one piece, and raises easily.  legroom is lacking in the rear seat. Kids are always fine, as long as three of them can share one drink. We actually carried six 10-year-old boys on a soccer team for 60 miles in the hhr, and they were all happy, even the two who squeezed into the way-back. Adults wouldn't be as happy in the hhr's back seats.  the panel van has a rubberized floor that should be good for delivery or business or hobby uses. Rearward visibility is poor, however. driving impressionthe chevy hhr's 2. 4-liter ecotec is a wonderful little engine, and it has a slight boost in horsepower and torque numbers for 2007. It makes 175 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque at 5000 rpm, numbers which don't indicate anything special. In fact, that torque peak suggests that the low-rpm pulling power might be weak. We drive up a steep, slow hill every day, and the hhr plugged up the hill like a tractor, with no shifting-down of the automatic transmission.  transmission ratios have a lot to do with this efficient delivery of power. The automatic includes remote starting, and climbing into a toasty car on icy mornings after starting it from a warm house during morning coffee is a nice luxury. We liked the way the automatic could be easily manually downshifted, even though it doesn't feature a separate manual mode. And we liked how it held second gear going down that same steep, slow hill.  acceleration was equally impressive. Onto the freeway, foot on the floor, and the hhr 2lt really scoots, which makes it a lot of fun. The 2. 4-liter engine is quiet, thanks partly to special laminated steel in the firewall.  the 2. 4-liter engine is efficient, also. It gets the same epa-rated 22/27 mpg city/highway (with manual transmission) as the standard 149 hp, 2. 2-liter engine. Premium fuel is recommended but not required for the 2. 4-liter. During one week in the 2lt, we averaged 23. 4 miles per gallon, as indicated by the digital data on the dash. That included mostly around-town driving, plus about 120 freeway miles with a full load o. 2007 chrysler pt cruiser review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Retrowagon, and gangster convertible. introductionthe chrysler pt cruiser combines the retro look of late-'30s american iron with modern performance, efficiency and features. The pt cruiser comes in two body styles, a versatile five-door model and a not-so-versatile two-door convertible.  after a significant facelift for 2006, the 2007 chrysler pt cruiser remains relatively the same with a few additions to colors and features. New for 2007 are a few additional exterior colors and features, including a now-standard remote keyless entry on the base model and a standard console flood lamp on all models. The power liftgate comes standard for 2007.  the five-door model's tall body boasts lots of room for people and cargo. In fact, its interior volume and versatility compare well to a small suv. Yet the pt cruiser is small and easy to park.  it's also easy on gas. The lower-level models are competitively priced, and we think they make the most sense. Turbocharged models put fire under the hood, but they're pricey.  the pt cruiser convertible is one of the least expensive convertibles on the market. Its trunk is tiny and awkward, however; in fact, we can't think of a trunk that's less convenient than the one on the cruiser convertible.  the pt cruiser doesn't fit within existing automotive marketing segments, but competes on some levels with the chevy hhr, the scion xb, and the mini cooper. Like them, it is essentially a car: the pt cruiser is based on the dodge neon, a compact car noted for sprightly performance. So it drives like a car, though the handling is not as good. Cruiser is an appropriate name. lineupthe 2007 chrysler pt cruiser comes in two body styles: a five-door hatchback/wagon chrysler calls a sedan; and a two-door convertible. Both prices include automatic transmission; a manual gearbox is not available with this engine. The gt also comes with side-impact airbags, a power glass sunroof, and most of the limited's luxury goodies. Leather sport seats are also standard. The gt convertible 29,825) comes with all the limited and gt sedan goodies.  optional on all convertibles and on limited and gt sedans is a 368-watt boston acoustics premium sound system 695). Sirius satellite radio is optional on all models 195, including a one-year subscribtion). Gps navigation 1,100) is available on limited and gt; so is uconnect hands-free, in-vehicle communications 360), which uses bluetooth technology to link the user's cellular phone with the cruiser's stereo speakers. Limited sedans can be ordered with plastic woodgrain exterior accents 895). Many of the standard features on higher-line models are also available as options on the less expensive models.  safety features include front side-impact airbags, standard in gt and limited and optional 390) on the other models. Three-point safety harnesses are provided at all positions, including the rear center position, so be sure to wear them. The front belts have pyrotechnically charged tensioners, just like in luxury cars, to tighten the belts for the initial stages of an impact. The rear bench is equipped with child-seat tethers. walkaroundthe chrysler pt cruiser blends the retro look of a late-1930s or early 1940s american sedan with new-age styling cues such as dual-beam flush headlights and teardrop-shaped taillight lenses.  the look was refined beginning with the 2006 models, but not drastically changed. The horizontal-themed grille does not extend below the bumper as on older models and it's topped by a prominent chrysler eagle and flanked by gently scalloped headlamps. Round foglights frame a horizontal slot in the bumper. Around back, a body-color spoiler on the liftgate is said to improve aerodynamic efficiency.  in terms of exterior dimensions, the pt cruiser is quite compact. It's shorter in overall length than most compact sedans, but it's relatively tall. Measuring 63 inches from the pavement to the highest point of its roof, it's nearly as tall as a minivan. That height is a crucial element of the pt cruiser's design.  the design of the convertible is quite a bit different from that of the sedan. The convertible looks shorter than the sedan, but it isn't; maybe it's the single long door on each side that creates this illusion. It's lower, however, by almost three inches, which certainly alters the looks. But there's a lot more to it than that: close examination reveals that the windshield is raked more radically and uses a different a-pillar design.  with the top up, the convertible looks like a custom chopped-top hot rod. And it looks pretty cool. A nice boot is provided that dresses up the appearance with the top down. interiorthe pt cruiser pulls its exterior styling themes into the cabin, although here, too, the retro theme is tempered a bit by a very modern-looking center stack that visually splits the vintage-styled dashboard.  the driver faces three white-faced gauges set in individual cylinders, with speedometer center, tachometer right, and fuel and water temperature left. Accessory switches are concentrated in the center panel, with radial-type climate control dials at the bottom. Window switches are high in the center stack, inconvenient for quick operation, forcing the driver to search for them. The door levers have a nice action, and the switches operate with good tactile feel, though they're not world class. The standard stereo sounds tinny; we haven't tried the boston accoustics system. Also, there's a separate set button for the station presets, fussier than simply holding the preset down.  a bonus of the cruiser's tall profile is its upright seating position, with a fairly high view ahead, somewhat like a sport-utility vehicle or minivan. The gt also features a leather wrapped steering wheel with satin-silver spokes, and bright accents on the pedals.  the center console incorporates a sliding armrest, replacing the seat-mounted armrests provided previously. The pt's console also includes a covered tray for concealing small items, a storage bin that holds six cds, a coin holder and fold-out cup holders for rear-seat coffee consumers. A cell-phone charger is optional.  roominess is a virtue in the cruiser. The sedan's 120. 5 cubic feet of interior volume is comparable to that of large cars such as the mercedes-benz s-class or lincoln town car, though it certainly doesn't have the ambience of those cars. Much of that space is a function o.

2005 chrysler pt cruiser review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Top-down fun or wagon-like practicality in a gangstermobile. introductionchrysler pt cruiser combines the retro look of a late-'30s american sedan with modern performance, efficiency and features. The pt cruiser is based on the dodge neon, a compact car noted for its sprightly performance. The cruiser's taller body adds not only a unique look, but also extra room for people and cargo.  its interior volume and versatility compares well to a small suv. Yet the pt cruiser is shorter in length than a neon, making it easy to park. And it's easy on gas.  now in its fifth year, with annual sales of more than 100,000, the cruiser is a familiar sight, but people are still intrigued by it. For starters, it's difficult to define within existing automotive marketing segments, leading chrysler to call the pt cruiser too cool to categorize. That fire comes in the form of 220 horsepower in the gt; a more affordable 180-horsepower turbo is also available.  if there's anything cooler than the standard pt cruiser, it's the pt cruiser convertible. The base convertible 19,405) is similarly equipped. The gt also comes with side-impact airbags and most of the limited's luxury goodies. Leather sport seats and a power moonroof are also standard. The gt convertible 27,830) comes with all the limited and gt sedan goodies, except that its 17-inch wheels are painted rather than plated. Many of the standard features on higher-line models are also available as options on the less expensive models.  the truly limited edition (with production capped at 1,700 units) pt dream cruiser series 4 convertible 30,085) features deep lava red paint, a maroon cloth convertible top, chrome grille accents and light pearl beige leather-upholstered performance seats. The spoiler 150) is optional on the limited.  the design of the convertible is quite a bit different from that of the sedan. 2003 chrysler pt cruiser review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Turbocharger turns this cruiser into a hot rod. introductionlast year the flames were on the outside of the pt cruiser. For 2003, there's more fire under the hood. The 2003 pt turbo gets significant handling upgrades to go with its more powerful engine. The end result is the hot rod many wanted when the cruiser was first introduced.  though it has become a familiar sight, the cruiser still attracts attention. People from all walks and stations want a better look, intrigued by the cruiser's difficult-to-define character. It is, as chrysler says, too cool to categorize.  the two strongest virtues of the cruiser are its practicality and its affordable price. These two virtues make the pt cruiser suitable for everyday use. All of the limited edition's luxury goodies are available as options.  options on the other models include antilock disc brakes with traction control 595), engine block heater 35), and a roof rack 175).  . walkaroundchrysler's pt cruiser blends the retro look of a late-1930's american sedan with new-age styling cues such as dual-beam flush headlights and bullet-shaped taillight lenses. But that's not all that makes up the pt cruiser. The shape is intriguing, but underneath is a modern platform with front-wheel drive.  by exterior dimensions, the pt cruiser is quite compact. It's nearly 6 inches shorter than a neon subcompact. Yet with 63 inches from pavement to the highest point of its roof, the cruiser is also 7 inches taller than a neon, and nearly as tall as some minivans. That height is a crucial element of the pt cruiser's design.  the pt turbo is distinguished from the other models by its chrome exhaust tips and larger grille and air intakes.  . interiorthe pt cruiser pulls exterior styling themes into the cabin with painted inserts on its t-shaped symmetrical dashboard. The driver faces three white-faced gauges set in individual cylinders, with speedometer center, tachometer right and fuel and water temperature left. The turbo's silver-faced speedometer reads up to 140 mph, while the standard cruiser goes only to 110. Switches are concentrated in the center panel, with radial-type climate control dials and a single pair of buttons for the front windows. The door levers have a nice action and the switches operate with good tactile feel, not world class, but a noticeable improvement over chrysler's sloppy mid-1990s standard.  the same improvement applies to the interior finish. The leather package, in particular, has a rich appearance, given the cruiser's price, with suede inserts in the doors and along the lower cushion edges.  the front seats have a reasonable amount of bolster to keep driver and passenger from sliding side to side in the three lower-line models, but the turbo gets more padding in its side bolsters. And with 120. 2 cubic feet of interior volume, there's no premium on space in the pt cruiser. The government's standard for defining a large car, like the mercedes-benz s-class or lincoln town car, is 120 cubic feet.  all that space is largely a function of the cruiser's height. Its roof rises toward the rear, and its rear seat bottoms are higher than those in front are. The industry calls this 'theater seating.' the front seats are mounted on tall boxes, leaving plenty of room for rear passengers to stretch their legs underneath. We tested a six-foot, nine-inch passenger who fit comfortably front or rear, and, no, he wasn't an nba star.  chrysler claims the pt cruiser's cabin can be configured 26 different ways. We didn't count, but there are clearly a lot of options. This flexibility stems from three features: a 65/35 split rear bench that can be folded flat, tumbled forward or removed, a movable parcel shelf, and an available front passenger seat that folds flat. The rear seats are anchored with quick-release attachments, and fitted with suitcase-style handles for lifting and steel wheels for rolling. The smaller section weighs 35 pounds, while the larger section weighs a hefty 65 pounds.  the load floor measures 40 inches between the wheel wells. With the front passenger seatback folded flat onto the bottom cushion, there's a table next to the driver and in front of the rear passengers. Even better, there can be more than 8 feet of flat surface between the dashboard and the tailgate. Front passenger side-impact airbags are standard on the limited edition and optional on the other models. Seatbelts should always be worn, however, and the pt cruiser comes with three-point safety harnesses at all positions, including the rear seat's center position. The front belts have pyrotechnically charged tensioners, just like luxury cars, to keep the belts tight during an impact. The rear bench is equipped with child-seat tethers.  . driving impressionpt cruiser was introduced with styling as its main draw, and when onlookers found out there was no hot-rod v8 motivating the wagon, many were shocked. At heart, the pt cruiser is an economy car, not a hot-rod. In reality, though, the pt cruiser's power-to-weight ratio is better than the volkswagen golf's. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a lively 8. 5 seconds and can cover the quarter-mile dragstrip in about 16. 7 seconds. So the pt cruiser is relatively quick for an economy car.  the turbo model is another story: it feels like it's got a bigger engine under the hood. High-tech oil jets spray the undersides of the pistons to keep them cool because turbocharged engines make a lot of heat as well as power.  the turbo's engine reaches its peak of 215 horsepower 500 rpm sooner than the 150-hp base engine, at 5000 rpm. Horsepower is only part of the story, because torque is increased dramatically from 162 pounds-feet at 4000 rpm to a wheel-twisting 245 lbs.-ft. In fact, 220 lbs.-ft. Is available at just 2300 rpm. A rumbly exhaust makes the car sound more like what most people expected when the hot-rod body was first introduced. The 2. 4-liter happens to be the base engine in chrysler's minivans; for the cruiser, improvements were geared toward reducing noise and vibration rather than increasing power.  the base pt cruiser can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8. 5 seconds (when equipped with the manual transmission), which is more than respectable for a car in this price range, while we estimate the turbo can get to 60 mph in about 7 seconds. We tried the manual, which is surprisingly precise; it's not sports-car grade, but not bad for a longer-throw gate with a lever that's a foot long. Working the gears to get the most from the base engine is pleasing. The automatic isn't as effective as the five-speed at getting the base cruiser cruising, because the power is biased toward higher rpm, which is not where automatics work best. With properly timed dips of the accelerator, there's enough torque for safe, clean overtaking on two-lane roa. 2011 acura tsx review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. New wagon joins updated sedan lineup. introductionthe sharply creased acura tsx is something like the swiss army knife among smaller, near-luxury sedans, and now among wagons, too. It does a lot of jobs well. If it's not the best car in its class by any particular measure, the tsx is good by many measures. It's very easy to live with in all locales and loaded with relative value.  for 2011, the acura tsx sedan gets a slight facelift. There are also subtle interior updates for the 2011 tsx sedans, along with aerodynamic improvements and engine efficiencies that raise epa mileage ratings by 1 mpg across the board.  yet the big development is the new 2011 tsx sport wagon. With more than 60 cubic feet of easily accessed cargo space, the wagon makes a nice, quieter alternative to a small suv or crossover. It delivers almost as much utility, better reflexes and better fuel economy than just about any suv extant.  the 2011 acura tsx comes standard with heated leather-trimmed seats, power everything, dual-zone climate control, a great sounding high-watt stereo, electronic stability control and a full array of airbags. It scores well in government and insurance industry crash tests. The acura tsx competes primarily with the audi a4, bmw 3 series, and lexus is, and to a lesser extent with the mercedes-benz c-class, saab 9-3 and volkswagen cc.  the tsx uses front-wheel drive, whereas true sports sedans and many of its competitors are rear-wheel drive. Regardless, this acura remains one of the better-handling front-drive sedans available. It's grown bigger, heavier and more luxurious over the last few years, and as a result it plods a bit more than it once did. It's rated at 201 horsepower, but it revs happily and, with the 6-speed manual, it's the most fun tsx to drive. It also gets great fuel economy, delivering up to 22 mpg city, 31 highway, according to the epa. It's never crude or rough.  the tsx sedan is also available with 3. 5-liter v6, delivering substantially more power and torque, with a 3 mpg mileage penalty. It's more substantial, perhaps, and heavier, with character more in tune with the luxury class.  technology has always been a big part of the tsx's appeal, and this extends beyond the drivetrain and chassis. Updated for 2011, acura's superb navigation system is the equal of anything in the class. It displays real-time traffic with congestion re-routing and local and national weather. The top-line audio system sets a standard for the class, too, with superbly crisp surround sound. Like the other features, voice command and hands-free bluetooth cell phone architecture are cleanly integrated with the car's electronics. The tsx delivers acura's hallmark traits of smooth mechanicals, a feature-rich cabin and distinctive, if not necessarily pretty design. If it isn't a true sports sedan, it's very good being what it is: a stylish, efficient premium compact sedan with a sporty tilt. Options are limited.  the tsx sedan 29,610) is powered by a 2. 4-liter inline-4, delivering 201 horsepower and up to 172 pound feet of torque. Either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission is available for the price, with 17-inch alloy wheels. It comes standard with the same features as the sedan, with a few wagon-only items such as a rear cargo cover.  the tsx v6 sedan 35,150) upgrades with a 3. 5-liter v6 generating 280 horsepower and 254 pound-feet. The package also adds premium els audio with more power, 10 speakers, a cd changer and a 15-gb storage drive, and a back-up camera. On the wagon, it includes a power liftgate. The window sticker will list tsxs with this package as separate technology models. The tsx does offer a number of dealer installed options, including a remote starter, exterior racks and spoilers and interior trim kits.  safety features include the required complement of airbags: front-impact airbags, front passenger side-impact airbags and curtain-style head protection airbags for outboard passengers front and rear. There are active head restraints for front passengers and anchors for child safety seats (latch) in back. Active safety features include electronic stability control (esc) and anti-lock brakes (abs) with electronic brake-force distribution (ebd) and brake assist. A tire pressure monitor is required by federal law. walkaroundthe tsx applies what acura calls its keen edge design theme. Like it or not, the hard creases and prominent bulges stand out more explicitly than those on acuras past. There is a consistency to acura's styling that ties its current models together, starting with the prominent, stylized caliper logo, and there is no mistaking the tsx as anything other than a vehicle from honda's luxury brand.  what stands out for 2011 is the newly introduced tsx sport wagon. It's more than seven inches longer than a bmw 3 series and five inches longer than a lexus if, and it's wider than both.  there's no deceit in the tsx wagon, with nothing meant to imply that it is some truck-style, suv or crossover. Its aesthetics rest in its utility. We like that, even if the large rear hatch and bulging rear bumper create a big rear end.  for 2011, all tsx models get a mild facelift: the chin spoiler in front has been revised. There's a new grille and new, bright garnishes below the front bumper around the fog lights. In back, the taillights and license-plate trim have been updated.  the 2011 tsx styling tweaks come with new underbody panels intended to improve aerodynamics. These plastic sheets essentially fare-in many mechanical components, smoothing airflow underneath the car and minimizing the aural disturbance it creates. In its quest to reduce noise inside the tsx, acura has also improved the glass. The windshield now has a sheet of sound-deadening acoustic laminate between layers of glass, and the side windows are nearly 25 percent thicker than before.  the tsx's front end blends elements from acura's other two sedans, the sporty tl and the more serious rl, and from the mdx sport utility. Its side view departs a bit more from the acura family look, but keeps just enough of the cues to stay true to its keen edge design dna. Any rear angle is more than a bit busy, and suggests recent toyota camrys more than the previous tsx. The five spokes now have a beveled lip, giving them a little more visual depth. The split five-spoke 18-inch wheels that identify the tsx v6 are unchanged. The six-cylinder is also distinguished by a v6 badge on the trunk and slightly larger lower grille inlets. interiorthe 2011 acura tsx benefits from a range of updates inside, beginning with minor appearance items like chrome door releases and contrasting stitching on the standard leather seats. There is also more sound insulation throughout. This all goes along with the introduction of the new tsx sport wagon.  two other functional improvements stand out for 2011. The center-console storage box is now cooled by the air conditioning, keeping candy bars, snacks or even a canned soft drink fit for consumption on the hottest days. And the navigation system, already quite effective, has been updated with a full vga monitor that greatly enhances resolution.  it's easy to like the tsx interior. The cabin is comfortable without being plush, and sporty without being sparse. Communication between driver and car is, for the most part, open, easy and unabridged.  the decorative trim is a dark gray metallic plastic, and everything else inside the wagon we tested was black, except for the trim around the main gauges and a couple of buttons. The effect is somber, dark, dense and boring. With the tsx's conventional stick key, which is increasingly rare in this class of sedans, it almost made the car feel dated. (however, some of us prefer traditional keys.) the tsx is anything but dated. We'd choose one with a two-tone interior schemes. The lighter color below the trim line makes the tsx cabin much more appealing.  the front seats are supportive, with enough side bolstering for reasonably rambunctious motoring on twisty roads. The bottom cushion could be deeper. CD Changer✔ Climate Control✔ Anti-lock Brakes✔ Air Conditioning✔ Leather Seats✔ Bluetooth✔ Backup Camera✔ Navigation System✔ Alloy Wheels

2008 dodge magnum review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The great american station wagon. introductionthe dodge magnum is a full-size american station wagon with spacious cargo capacity. It's engineered for safety. All-wheel drive is available for all-weather capability. But what makes the magnum special is its hot rod styling and rumbling engines. There's nothing else quite like it.  the headliner is the srt8 with a 6. 1-liter hemi v8 that puts out 425 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque to propel the magnum to 60 mph in about five seconds. That's quick, especially for a big american station wagon. The magnum srt8 can reportedly accelerate from 0 to 100 and back to 0 in less than 17 seconds.  it's not necessary to choose the srt8 to enjoy the magnum experience, however. The least-expensive magnum is the se with a 2. 7-liter v6 epa-rated at 18/26 miles per gallon that starts around $24,000.  while these cars are not miserly, there is some attention given to fuel economy. The interior changes include a new instrument panel and center console, as well as upgraded soft-touch surfaces on the arm rests, center console and door trim. Standard equipment includes cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, remote keyless entry, a 60/40 split rear seat with center armrest, am/fm/cd sound system, tilt-telescoping steering column, 17-inch wheels and disc brakes.  the sxt 27,225) comes with a 3. 5-liter single overhead cam v6 and a five-speed automatic with dodge's autostick manual shiftgate. The sxt is available with all-wheel drive 29,855). The sxt comes with aluminum wheels, power-adjustable pedals, interior air filter, eight-way power driver's seat, fog lamps and sirius satellite radio with a one-year subscription. The r/t is also available with all-wheel drive 33,880). A popular equipment group 1,025) for r/t includes an alarm system, remote starting, universal garage door opener, am/fm/mp3 stereo with six-disc cd changer, redundant steering wheel controls and a trip computer. An available road/track performance group 3,540) tweaks the exhaust and induction systems for an additional 10 horsepower, and adds 20-inch wheels with summer performance tires, performance suspension, recalibrated steering, and suede microfiber seat inserts.  the srt8 37,905) features the 6. 1-liter v8 hemi and five-speed autostick automatic. It also has sport-bolstered front seats and 20-inch aluminum wheels with goodyear f1 high-performance tires. The uniquely tuned load-leveling, tauter and firmer suspension lowers the srt8's ride height by half an inch. Brakes are vented discs front and rear. For 2008, the srt8 also gets a carbon fiber and leather-trimmed steering wheel, carbon fiber-patterned door handles, a functional hood scoop, and an available srt-engineered sound system.  options include a sunroof 950), roof rails 250), a trailer tow package 350) with self-leveling shocks, high-intensity discharge headlights 650) and rear a seat dvd entertainment system 1,595) that also comes with sirius backseat tv. Sirius backseat tv is offered separately for srt8 470) and it adds three tv channels to the rear dvd entertainment system. Dodge's mygig is available in two versions. The mygig entertainment system 650) has 6. 5-inch touchscreen and a 20-gigabyte hard drive to hold music and pictures. The mygig multi-media infotainment system 1,655) adds a navigation system with voice control and real-time traffic, and part of the hard drive space is taken up by navigation map information. It is also packaged with dodge's uconnect hands-free wireless cell phone link.  safety features on all models include advanced multistage dual front airbags and the latch child seat anchor system. Head-protecting side-curtain airbags for front- and rear-seat occupants and torso-protecting side-impact airbags are optional. Abs with brake assist, traction control and electronic stability co. walkaroundthe styling of the dodge magnum is so distinctive that a picture will say far more than words can. It's a long, low, beefy station wagon on a wide track, with a big bold grille and a chopped top. It would be an understatement to say the magnum has presence.  however, it's not called a station wagon, at least not officially. The epa classifies it as a sport utility. We call it a station wagon. But that doesn't accurately describe it. Some call it a sport wagon, and that's really what it is, a cross between muscle car and station wagon, a hot rod hauler for grown-ups who haven't grown up, or haven't needed to.  for 2008, the grille has been lowered and stretched horizontally to reduce the truck influence. The grille is clearly from the dodge ram truck family, but it's smaller, softer and classier. The headlamp units are a nice integrated wedge shape. We like them better than those on the chrysler 300, a magnum sibling, which try harder to be retro. The air dam/bumper cover wraps up under the headlamps and grille, and looks impressively beefy and functional. The srt8 gets a mesh grille insert surrounded by a blockier fascia with a more aggressive air dam and enlarged, brake-cooling ducts.  from the side, the magnum looks like it could be rolled onto the floor of a custom rod show. The wheel cutouts are profound, especially imposing with the 18-inch, 10-spoke wheels on the r/t and borderline brutish with the srt8's 20-inchers and ultra-low profile rubber. Thick, slablike sides, tinted glass, and a roofline that slopes back to pinch the rear window all contribute to the custom-like chopped look. The one-piece liftgate is hinged about two feet up into the roof, providing a vast and liberating opening to the cargo area. We did, and the cargo area looks wider, flatter, longer and easier to access than that of most suvs. It's usually the length and width and flat floor that matter, and the magnum excels by those criteria. It's not a compromise we'd be willing to make.  the back seat is very roomy, with only 10 percent less room than in the front seat, according to the sae volume index. In people terms, the rear seat's measurements come within an inch of those of the front seat except in legroom, where the rear seat gives up just over an inch and a half to the front. The 60/40 split rear bench seats three people, but a wide, center armrest with cup holders drops down to make it more comfortable for two. There's plenty of head clearance despite the roofline, which does pose a minor visibility problem for the driver.

The gt gets its chrome on its grille (optional on gt and limited sedans).  optional on both convertible models is an infinity premium sound system with an eight-channel amplifier and 368 watts peak power. Sirius satellite radio is optional 195, including a one-year subscribtion) on all but base models. Many of the standard features on higher-line models are also available as options on the less expensive models.  the truly limited edition (with production capped at 1,700 units) pt dream cruiser series 4 convertible 30,085) features deep lava red paint, a maroon cloth convertible top, chrome grille accents and light pearl beige leather-upholstered performance seats. Seventeen-inch wheels. walkaroundthe chrysler pt cruiser blends the retro look of a late-1930's american sedan with new-age styling cues such as dual-beam flush headlights and teardrop-shaped taillight lenses. But that's not all there is to the pt cruiser. The shape is intriguing, but underneath is a modern platform with front-wheel drive.  by exterior dimensions, the pt cruiser is quite compact. It's nearly 6 inches shorter than a neon. Yet with 63 inches from the pavement to the highest point of its roof, the cruiser sedan is also 7 inches taller than the neon, and nearly as tall as some minivans. That height is a crucial element of the pt cruiser's design.  the gt sedan is distinguished from the other models by its chromed wheels, larger air intakes, and a spoiler on its liftgate. The spoiler 150) is optional on the limited.  the design of the convertible is quite a bit different from that of the sedan. The convertible looks shorter than the sedan, but isn't; maybe it's the single long door on each side that creates this illusion. It's certainly lower, by almost 3 inches. Closer examination reveals that the windshield is raked more radically and uses a different a-pillar design. With the top up, the convertible looks like a custom chopped-top hot rod. Pretty cool.  with its top down, the pt cruiser convertible's high tail and integrated sport bar remind us of the old volkswagen cabrio. But where the vw's side windows sealed against its symbolic roll bar (almost as on a prewar convertible sedan), the chrysler's windows seal against each other for a more modern convertible profile. Its slightly narrower and color-keyed sport bar sits behind the windows, inside the car, and is aerodynamically designed to minimize wind noise. A nice boot is provided that dresses up the appearance with the top down. The driver faces three white-faced gauges set in individual cylinders, with speedometer center, tachometer right and fuel and water temperature left. The gt's silver-faced speedometer reads up to 140 mph, while the standard cruiser's speedo goes to 120. The door levers have a nice action, and the switches operate with good tactile feel, though they're not world class. The standard stereo sounds tinny; we haven't spent much time with the new infinity system. Also, there's a separate set button for the station presets, fussier than simply holding the preset down.  a bonus of the cruiser's tall profile is its upright seating position, with a fairly high view ahead, somewhat like a sport-utility vehicle or minivan. The front seats in the three lower-line models have a reasonable amount of bolstering to keep driver and passenger from sliding side to side. The gt also features a leather wrapped steering wheel with satin-silver spokes, and bright accents on the pedals.  roominess is a virtue in the cruiser. The sedan's 121. 5 cubic feet of interior volume is comparable to that of large cars such as the mercedes-benz s-class or lincoln town car, though it certainly doesn't have the ambience of those cars. Much of that space is a function of the cruiser's height. The roof rises toward the rear like on a chopped-top hot r.
